Sustainable transport to the aquatic centre and the arena in Munktellstaden
Sustainable transport to the aquatic centre and the arena in Munktellstaden is a project created by Eskilstuna municipality in cooperation with Mälardalen Energy Agency. The project will promote sustainable travel, to and from the new stadium and aquatic centre in Munktellstaden in Eskilstuna, and is targeting visitors and participants of competitions, training and other sport-related activities.
The project will focus on creating long-term conditions for sustainable travel patterns for visitors and athletes at the new stadium, and the new aquatic centre. Mälardalen Energy Agency will be responsible for creating a dialogue with actors in, and around the stadium, along with planning and implementing activities for sustainable travel.
One of the most important occasions to work with will be at sports related events, since these periods have the highest frequency of travellers to and from the area. For sustainability, many travellers need to be offered good alternative to solo traveling by car.
The project will run until 2018.
