Preliminary Study for Biogas in Västmanland County
The project was carried out with a view to taking a holistic approach to the development of biogas in the county of Västmanland, in order to identify opportunities for new production facilities, upgrading current facilities, filling stations and pipelines. The project found that there is a realistic potential to produce more than 12 million Nm3 in the county by the year 2020. The project ended with a final seminar in Västerås, where the project’s results were reported and the biogas development in the county was discussed.
The project was funded primarily by the County Administrative Board in Västmanland, LRF and Vafab Environment, but also by other partners, i.e. AB Västerås Local Transport, Mälardalen Energy Agency, Swedish Plant Power, Sala Heby Energy, and Sala, Hallstahammar, Surahammar, Arboga, Köping, Kungsör, Fagersta and Norberg municipalities. The project lasted between 2009 and 2010.
